HENDERSON, KY - James Rudolph (Rudy)Royster, age 81, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 2:45 AM, Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY.
James Royster was a member of Henderson General Baptist Church where he served as head usher and greeter for 30 years. He was a past mechanic and he retired from Homefolks Hardware. Mr. Royster was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict.
James Royster was preceded in death by his son, James Leon Royster, who died on February 10, 2010. He was also preceded by a brother, Auston Earl Royster, and his parents, Austin and Virginia Royster.
Survivors include: Wife of 59 years: Mary Jane Royster Henderson, KY, 2 Daughters: Sandy and husband Robert Wilke Henderson, KY, Debra Elaine Holmes Henderson, KY, 6 Brothers: Bobby Royster Henderson, KY, Leroy Royster Evansville, IN, Charlie Royster Henderson, KY, Larry Royster Murfreesboro,TN, Jerry Royster Anderson, IN, Tony Royster Henderson, KY, 8 Grandchildren
17 Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Henderson General Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. Reverend Charles Linhart and Benjamin Holmes will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY. Full military rites conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40.
Friends may call from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Henderson General Baptist Church, Henderson, KY.
